Abstract
Background The number of syphilis cases in Indonesia increased from 2019 to 2022, with a slight decrease only in 2021. In 2018, there were 12,484 reported cases, increasing to 20,873 cases in 2022. Pregnant women are one of the high-risk groups for syphilis transmission, which may also affect the fetus. Therefore, syphilis screening in pregnant women is essential for early detection and treatment. Syphilis testing can be performed using Rapid Test and Chemiluminescent Enzyme Immunoassay (CLEIA) methods. Objective The purpose of this study was to determine the comparison of syphilis test results in pregnant women using the rapid test and Chemiluminescent Enzyme Immunoassay (CLEIA) methods. Method This study used a quasi-experimental design to compare syphilis test results using two different methods. Samples were collected using .purposive sampling technique with a total of 30 samples. Data were collected from primary data sources and analyzed using univariate analysis with the McNemar test. Results Based on the McNemar test, the significance value obtained was p-value = 1.000 (p > 0.05), indicating no difference in syphilis test results between the Rapid Test and CLEIA methods. Conclusion There was no difference between the Rapid Test and CLEIA methods in detecting specific antibodies of Treponema pallidum
