Abstract
Background: Maternal Mortality Rate (MMR) in Indonesia it self is still very high when compared with other ASEAN countries. According to the 2015 Indonesian Demographic and Health Survey (IDHS) the number of MMR in Indonesia is 305 / 100,000 KH (Directorate of Family Health, 2016). Most maternal deaths are during childbirth (49.5%), deaths during pregnancy (26%) during childbirth (24%) (Ministry RI Health, 2012). While the Infant Mortality Rate (IMR) in 2015 in Indonesia was 22.23/ 1000 KH (Directorate of Family Health, 2016).
Purpose: This study aims to be able to provide comprehensive midwifery care to Mrs. U with normal childbirth care and Her Baby in Pontianak City.
Methods: This study uses a descriptive method with a case study approach.
Results: Comprehensive midwifery care process applied to Mrs.U during pregnancy, childbirth, childbirth, and newborns have obtained results in accordance with expectations such as the condition of the mother and baby who are healthy and safe in accordance with existing theoretical concepts.
Conclusion: There is a gap between theory and case in Comprehensive Midwifery Care at Mrs. U and Her Baby in the Pontianak Work Area.
