Abstract

Background: Based on 2015 WHO data, maternal mortality rates around the world are 216/100 live births and infant mortality rates in developing countries are 21 / 1,000 KH and developed countries are only 3 / 1,000 live births (WHO, 2015). In Indonesia the infant mortality rate in 2015 was based on the SDG’s which is 23 per 1,000 live births. Data from the head of the health department in West Kalimantan AKI in 2018 recorded 86 cases of maternal deaths. So the maternal mortality rate in West Kalimantan Province in 2018 is 95 per 100,000 live births. There were 638 neonatal death cases with 90,913 live births. So thus if calculated with the infant mortality rate is 7 per 1,000 live births. (Health Office 2018).
