Abstract

Background: Midwifery care is one of the health services that can reduce the Maternal Mortality Rate (MMR) up to 20%. One of the most important functions of ANC care is to provide advice and information to every woman to be able to recognize the danger signs and symptoms that require immediate help and health workers. According to data from World Health Organization (WHO) in 2018, the number of maternal mortality rates (MMR) is very high in the world, it is recorded that 400 women died every day due to complications of pregnancy and childbirth. In 2018 more than 305 women died during, after birth, and delivery.
Objective: To provide midwifery care for pregnant women by applying the seven steps of Varney.
Case report: Midwifery care for pregnant women Mrs. K Health Center at the Sungai Purun Kecil Village from 7 December 2020 – 30 March 2021. The subject is Mrs. K and using primary data types. Methods of collecting the data through anamnesis, observation, examination, processed the case data, analyzed, and then documented.
Discussion: This case report details the midwifery care for the pregnant woman, Mrs. K using the SOAP method supported by the role of health workers in looking for gaps between theory and practice.
Conclusion: There are no gaps found in the results of subjective and objective data. Moreover, after all the data has been collected, it can be concluded that the analysis and management were conducted related to the theory.
