Abstract

Background: According to WHO, maternal mortality is caused by premature rupture of membranes is about 2% worldwide, and in Indonesia is about 7%. Data from 2016-2017, PROM cases have increased. In 2016, the incidence of PROM was 67 people, and in 2018, there were 120 people.
Research Objectives: To experience midwifery care for a mother who gave birth with premature rupture of membranes; this was carried out at the Independent Midwife Practice of Marsini Karni, Pontianak.
Case Report: Midwifery care was conducted in the Independent Midwife Practice of Marsini Karni, Pontianak, 6 – 17 December 2020. The subject was Mrs. S, aged 28 years old, G2P1A0, 40 weeks pregnant with premature rupture of membranes, using primary data types. The data was collected through interviews or history taking, observation, and examination; cases were processed, analyzed, and then documented.
Discussion: This case reports detail the pathological midwifery care for mothers who gave birth with premature rupture of membranes at Independent Midwife Practices of Marsini Karni Pontianak, using SOAP, a 7 Varney midwifery management approach that is outlined in SOAP form, supported by the role of health workers in finding gaps between theory and practice.
Conclusion: In providing pathological midwifery care to Mrs. S in Independent Midwife Practices of Marsini Karni Pontianak; there were no gaps according to the Subjective and Objective data. After all the data had been collected, it concluded that the analysis and management were under the theory.
