Abstract

Background: Maternal Mortality Rate (MMR) is one of the indicators to measuring women's health status. The World Health Organization (WHO) estimates that 830 women died every day due to complications of pregnancy and childbirth. Premature rupture of membranes is one of the high-risk cases that can cause high morbidity for mothers and babies, therefore it is necessary to make efforts to diagnose and treat premature rupture of membranes. Premature rupture of membranes (PROM) is an important problem in obstetrics related to complications of premature birth, the occurrence of infection chorioamnionitis to sepsis, which increases perinatal morbidity and mortality and causes maternal infection. This can occur at the end of pregnancy or long before the time of delivery, under normal circumstances 8-10% of pregnant women at term will experience premature rupture of membranes.
Objective: To be able to provide midwifery care to Mrs. D with premature rupture of membranes in labor in the working area of RSIA Permata Bunda Ketapang.
Research Methods: This study uses a descriptive method with a case study approach.
Research Results: With the implementation of midwifery care for mothers in labor with premature rupture of membranes, it was found that the patient gave birth normally without being given SC so that the mother and baby in good health and no abnormalities or complaints.
Conclusion: Based on the care provided, there is a gap between theory and the cases in women giving birth with premature rupture of membranes at RSIA Permata Bunda, Ketapang Regency, namely SC action should be carried out but the patient underwent induction.
