Abstract

Background: Premature rupture of membranes occurs in 6-19% of pregnancies. The incidence of premature rupture of membranes ranges from 8-10% in term pregnancies and 1% in preterm pregnancies. Premature rupture of membranes is a major cause of perinatal morbidity and is associated with perinatal infection, and it may cause problems for both mother and fetus. The contributory factors of the incidence include amniotic membrane abnormalities, maternal age, short cervix, indexic, incompetent cervix, trauma, Gemelli, hydramnios, fetal abnormal position, alcohol and anemia.
Case Report: Comprehensive midwifery care of premature rupture of membranes was performed on Mrs S at Astatin midwife clinic Kubu Raya. data collecting methods were anamnesis, observation, examination and documentation. The data were analyzed by comparing the data obtained with the existing theory.
Discussion: This case report describes complete midwifery care of premature rupture of membranes using the SOAP method.
Conclusion: Comprehensive midwifery care of premature rupture of membranes has been procedurally and completely conducted by using SOAP documentation. There was no gap between the case and theory in the results of subjective and objective data
