Abstract
Background: Comprehensive midwifery is continuous maternal care performed by medical personnel, especially midwives, and is carried out comprehensively, from pregnancy, childbirth, newborns, and postpartum to the birth-control method. This comprehensive service is an anticipation in the health sector to prevent risky diseases or disorders that endanger pregnant women and newborn babies. This service aims to provide direct care to pregnant women, postpartum mothers, babies, newborns and contraceptives to reduce maternal mortality rates (MMR) and infant mortality rates (IMR).
Case Report: Comprehensive midwifery care was performed for Mrs F (23 years, G1P0A0H0M0) from January 20 to March 10, 2023. The types of the data were primary and secondary. The data collecting techniques were anamneses, examination, observation, and documentation.
Discussion: This case report details comprehensive midwifery care using an observational descriptive method and a case study by comparing the basic concept of the theory and the case (from the pregnancy period to the birth control method. The results indicate a healthy condition of both the mother and the baby.
Conclusion: Midwifery care was provided to Mrs F with normal delivery and carried out using the SOAP documentation approach. A gap was found in the data results, especially in the first and fourth stages of labour. The patient experienced precipitous delivery and second-degree tears.
