Abstract
Background: The World Health Organization (WHO) reported in 2014 that premature rupture of membranes occurs in 5-10% of all newborns. Meanwhile, 50–60% of premature rupture of membranes globally occurred in 2017. Premature rupture of membranes accounts for 1% of term pregnancies. Indonesian statistics show that birth accounts for 65% of premature rupture of membranes. Based on statistics from the 2017 Indonesian Demographic and Health Survey (SDKI), the infant mortality rate (IMR) was 24 per 1,000 live births. In Indonesia in 2010, premature rupture of membranes, multiple pregnancies and other abnormalities contributed to 7% of maternal deaths (Ministry of Health, 2014).
Case Report: Comprehensive midwifery care was performed for Mrs L (27 years, G3P2A0) and her baby at the Nurhasanah midwife clinic Pontianak City. The types of the data were primary and secondary. The data were analyzed by comparing the data gathered and the existing theory.
Discussion: This case report details the continuity of care using an observational descriptive method and a case study. The purpose was to contrast basic theoretical principles and midwifery cases encompassing prenatal until birth control method (family planning) to ensure the mother’s and baby’s health and safety.
Conclusion: Complete continuity of care has been wholly and procedurally conducted for Mrs L and her baby using the SOAP documentation. The data show consistent results, namely premature rupture of membranes during delivery
