Abstract

Background: Globally, there have been 303,000 maternal deaths due to pregnancy and childbirth problems, and the infant mortality rate was 28.2 per 1,000 live births in 2019. Indonesia's maternal mortality rate (MMR) is still the highest in Southeast Asia. It is still far from the global Sustainable Development Goal of reducing MMR to 183 cases per 100,000 live births in 2024 and below 100,000 per live birth in 2030. In 2015, the Organization World Health reported that the maternal mortality rate and the average prevalence of anaemia in pregnant women throughout the world is around 38%, while the prevalence of anaemia during pregnancy in Indonesia was 37.1% in 2013 and jumped to 48.9% in 2018 (Research basic health, 2018). Data from the Director of Disease Prevention and Control reported by the West Kalimantan Provincial Health Department shows an increase of 11.20 percent, bringing maternal mortality to 86 percent (West Kalimantan Regional Health Department , 2021).
Case Report: Comprehensive midwifery care was performed for Mrs R (33 years, G3P2A0) and her baby from August 15, 2022, to March 04, 2023. The type of the data was primary. The data collecting techniques were anamneses, examination, observation, and documentation. The data, then, were analyzed by comparing the data gathered and the existing theory.
Discussion: This case report details the ongoing care provided by midwives to a pregnant woman in the second trimester, which includes prenatal examinations, newborn examinations, prenatal examinations, family planning (birth control method), and prenatal examinations.
Conclusion: Complete continuity of care has been wholly and procedurally conducted using the SOAP. A gap was found in the results of objective data. However, the combined information determines whether the studies and tests are consistent with the theory.
