Background: The World Health Organization (WHO) indicates that the world's Maternal Mortality Rate (MMR) is 303,000 people. MMR in ASEAN is 235 per 100,000 live births. MMR in Indonesia has increased from 4,221 deaths in 2019 to 4,627 deaths in 2020. The leading causes of these deaths are bleeding, hypertension in pregnancy, and circulatory system disorders. Therefore, the government conducts a comprehensive midwifery care to reduce MMR. This care aims to early detect risk factors during pregnancy, childbirth, newborns, postpartum, and family planning.
Case Report: Comprehensive midwifery care was performed on Mrs. S from September 16, 2022 to April 04, 2023. The type of the data was primary. The data collecting techniques were anamneses, examination, observation, and documentation. The data, then, were analyzed to compare the data found and the existing theory.
Discussion: This case report details complete midwifery care on Mrs S using the SOAP method, to identify the gap between the case and the theory.
Conclusion: Comprehensive midwifery care has been provided to Mrs. S and her baby using Varney's seven steps. From data collection to evaluation, a gap was found between theory and practice in pregnancy: one time Hb test during 1st trimester, pregnancy exercises (yoga and prostration), 2.5 hours apart internal examination, second-degree perineal laceration, and birth length of 47 centimetres.
