Abstract
Background: Indonesia's Maternal Mortality Rate (MMR) has increased significantly from 4,627 cases in 2020 to 7,389 deaths in 2021. According to the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Indonesia (2022), COVID-19 is the leading cause of maternal death (2,982 cases), bleeding (1,320 patients), and several other reasons. To reduce maternal and infant mortality, the government must provide access to quality health services, delivery care by skilled medical personnel, post-natal care, treatment of complications, and promotion of family planning (child-birth control), especially after delivery.
Case Report: Comprehensive midwifery care was performed for Mrs P and her baby from December 28 to January 14, 2023. The types of the data were primary and secondary. The data collecting techniques were anamneses, examination, observation, and documentation. The data, then, were analyzed by comparing the data gathered and the relevant theories.
Discussion: This case report details the continuity of care for Mrs P and her baby using the SOAP method.
Conclusion: Complete continuity of care has been conducted using the SOAP method. A gap was found between the subjective and objective data. However, the treatment and the analysis were done under the theory referred to.
