Abstract
Background: According to the World Health Organization (WHO), which has been published in 2018, the maternal mortality rate (MMR) in the world reaches 830 people per day. According to performance data from the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Indonesia in 2015-2017, there has been a decrease in the number of maternal deaths. The reason I took the title LBW and Medium Asphyxia is because there is a relationship between LBW and Asphyxia where LBW and Asphyxia are the main causes of perinatal and neonatal deaths (Agung, 2019).
Purposes: Able to provide comprehensive midwifery care to Mrs. M and Her Baby. with LBW and Medium Asphyxia in accordance with midwifery care in Kubu Raya Regency.
Methods: This study uses a descriptive observational research design by conducting a case study approach /Case Study Researh (CSR).
Result: From the SOAP assessment, Mrs. M and Her Baby. with the care of pregnant women antenatal examination 10 times in Kubu Raya Regency. Normal childbirth at the Teluk Kapuas Polindes, on December 18, 2019 at 22:45 WIB boys live BB: 2400 grams, PB: 44 cm. Postpartum normal with 3 visits and LBW 3 visits neonates. Babies get basic immunizations and birth control mothers choose to use 3-month injection contraception.
Conclusions: With the implementation of comprehensive midwifery care for pregnant women, maternity, postpartum, newborns and family planning it was found that there is a gap between theory and practice in the field that is where the handling of LBW and Asphyxia is not in accordance with existing theories. From this study it can also be concluded that there is an influence between LBW events and the incidence of Asphyxia.
