Abstract
Background : One of the complications of childbirth is prolonged labor which causes 69,000 deaths, accounting for 2.8% of all maternal deaths worldwide. Labor is considered normal when uterine contractions cause the cervix to dilate (open) and stretch. Normal childbirth goes through several stages, namely the initial (latent) stage and when the cervix dilates more than 4 cm (Harismayanti, Retni, & Kohongia, 2023). Specifically in Indonesia, based on the results of basic medical research in 2018, the number of long deliveries increased gradually from year to year, namely 79.3% until 2019 continued to exceed the target, although in 2019 it still experienced a decrease compared to 2018. Likewise in 2018 2020 this figure has decreased. shows a decrease. In 2020, according to statistical data, only 4,046,521 mothers will be assisted by medical personnel to give birth at health facilities compared to the standard target of 4,984,432 mothers, so that the coverage rate for deliveries at health facilities only reaches 79.3% (Ministry of Health RI, 2018).
Case Report: Comprehensive midwifery care was given to Mrs. N and baby Mrs. N in Kubu Raya Regency on June 11, 2022 - February 3, 2023. The data used is primary data obtained through history taking, examination, observation, and documentation. Data analysis is done by comparing the data collected with the existing theory.
Discussion: This case report discusses comprehensive midwifery care for Mrs. N and baby Mrs. N using the SOAP method to find differences between theory and practice.
Conclusion: The implementation of comprehensive midwifery care on Mrs. N and baby Mrs. N with Varney's Seven Steps method has been recorded in SOAP format. There were differences between theory and practice, especially in terms of labor contractions and management of prolonged second stage.
