Background: Comprehensive midwifery care involves maternal care from the beginning of pregnancy until postpartum, including newborn care and contraceptive methods. World Health Organization (WHO), in 2020, recorded around 295,000 maternal deaths were caused by high blood pressure, bleeding, postpartum infections, and risky abortions. Data from the ASEAN Secretariat in 2021 shows that the highest Maternal Mortality Rate (MMR) was recorded in Myanmar at 282,000 per 100,000 live births, while the lowest MMR occurred in Singapore with no reports of maternal deaths. Therefore, midwives are essential in enhancing prenatal care, safe labour, newborn care, and control birth methods to reduce maternal death cases.
Case Report: Comprehensive midwifery care was performed for Mrs R (27 years) from December 17, 2022, to January 12, 2023. The patient has had two pregnancies, one delivery, and no abortion history. The data collecting technique was anamnesis and analyzed using the referred the theory. In short, the care has been done under the theory.
Discussion: This case report details the continuity of care for a third-trimester pregnancy patient with low back pain using the SOAP method.
Conclusion: Midwifery care expects alignment of subjective and objective data in documents to enable accurate data analysis.
