Abstract

Background: Midwives fulfill professional responsibilities within their field by offering comprehensive midwifery care encompassing services related to women's reproductive health, pregnancy, and family planning programs. This is achieved through a series of planned and extensive actions aimed at upholding the well-being of mothers and infants while striving to reduce maternal and neonatal mortality rates (Gea et al., 2023).
Case Report: This study focused on Mrs. M, encompassing her pregnancy, childbirth, postpartum period, family planning program, and the provision of newborn immunization. Data were collected through interviews, direct observation, physical examination, and medical documentation. Data analysis involved comparing field findings with existing theories.
Discussion: This report offers a detailed account of Mrs. M's delivery process at the Astatin Chaniago maternity clinic. The continuous midwifery care provided to Mrs. M, from pregnancy to postpartum, involved thorough monitoring of pregnancy through regular antenatal examinations. Postnatal care included 4 postpartum visits and the management of newborn with mild asphyxia.
Conclusion: Comprehensive midwifery care was administered to Mrs. M and her baby in Kubu Raya Regency in 2023. It is worth noting that a disparity between theory and practice was identified during the provision of midwifery care.
