Abstract

Background: Many married couples aspire to have children to complete their married life. However, there are various health factors that can affect pregnancy, including anemia, which can hinder fetal development. According to the World Health Organization (WHO), the maternal mortality rate in developing countries was 40% in 2021, with 13% occurring in developed countries. Some of these deaths are attributed to anemia and bleeding.
Case Report: Comprehensive midfiery care for mild anemia was provided to Mrs. S and her infant in
Pontianak City from May 18, 2023, until the baby was 9 months old. Primary data for this study were
obtained through patient interviews and direct observations, while secondary data were collected from
medical records. The data was analyzed by comparing new data with existing theories.
Discussion: This case report describes midwifery care of mild anemia provided to Mrs. S and her infant using the SOAP method.
Conclusion: The results of the midwifery care given to Mrs. S and her infant reveal a gap between theory and practice.
