Abstract

Introduction: The infant mortality rate is one of the targets that is the main concern of the Millennium Development Goals in 2015. The infant mortality rate is still relatively high in ASEAN countries, which is 23 cases per 1000 births. Meanwhile, data on infant mortality (IMR) in Indonesia is considered one of the main causes of infant mortality is low birth weight (LBW). Based on health data, the province of West Kalimantan is one of the highest percentages of LBW, which is 16.6%. %. Health workers, especially midwives, play a role in reducing IMR through antenatal care as early detection and complications in maternal and neonatal. In addition, midwives can provide proper handling and referrals.
Objectives: Provide pathology obstetric care At Baby. Mrs. P with low birth weight and moderate asphyxia in Kubu Raya Regency.
Case Report: Pathology obstetric care Baby. Mrs. P at the Sungai Kakap Community Health Center from 12 December 2020 – 12 January 2021. Subject Baby. Mrs. P with moderate asphyxia and LBW, using primary data types. Methods of collecting anamnesis, observation, examination, case data are processed and analyzed and then documented.
Discussion: This case report details midwifery care for newborns with moderate asphyxia and low birth weight using the SOAP method, Varney's 7-step midwifery management approach, which is outlined in SOAP form. supported by the role of health workers in looking for gaps between theory and practice.
Conclusion: There were no gaps found in the subjective and objective data results. So that after all the data collected, it can be concluded that the analysis and management are carried out in accordance with the theory.
