Abstract
Background: Anemia in pregnancy is the condition of the mother with hemoglobin (Hb) <11 g% in the first and third trimesters, while in the second trimester the hemoglobin level is <10.5 g%. Anemia of pregnancy is called "potential danger to mother and child", that's why anemia requires serious attention from all parties involved in health care. According to the WHO stated that 25% of deaths among pregnant women are caused by bleeding and estimates that approximately 10% of live births with complications postpartum hemorrhage, one of the causes of bleeding during childbirth and maternal mortality during pregnancy is anemia.
Goal: To provide midwifery care in the second trimester pregnant women with moderate anemia.
Case Report: Midwifery care was given to Mrs S at the Padang Tikar Health Center, Kubu Raya from 11 December 2020 – 12 January 2021. The subject of the study was Mrs. S 17 years old G1P0A0 24 weeks pregnant with moderate anemia. The methods of collecting data were anamnesis, observations, examinations, cases, and analyzes, then documented.
Discuss: This case report details midwifery care for pregnant women in the second trimester with moderate anemia using the SOAP method of Varney's 7-step midwifery management approach as outlined in SOAP, supported by the role of health workers in finding gaps between theory and practice.
Conclusion: There were no gaps in the results of the subjective, objective, and management data. So after all the data has been collected, it can be concluded that the management is in accordance with the theory.
