Abstract
Background: Childbirth complications are still one of the leading causes of maternal and infant deaths. The type of birth complication often occurs is premature rupture of membranes, a condition where the membranes in the amniotic fluid rupture before delivery. Therefore, maternity clinics are encouraged to maximize the IMR and MMR reduction programs by providing comprehensive midwifery care.
Case Report: Comprehensive midwifery care of excessive and continuous amniotic fluid was performed for Mrs N. The data collecting techniques were anamneses, examination, observation, and documentation. The data, then, were analyzed by comparing the data gathered and the existing theory.
Discussion: This case report details the continuity of care for Mrs N, a patient with continuous amniotic fluid and pathologic delivery (induction) by using the SOAP method.
Conclusion: Complete continuity of care has been wholly and procedurally conducted for Mrs N and her baby using the SOAP method. A gap was found between the case and theory in the objective data. However, the analysis and the management were done under the relevant theories.
