Abstract

Background: One of the main goals of comprehensive midwifery care is to reduce maternal mortality, which is one of the most important problems experienced by the world today. This is achieved through continuous, in-depth and detailed examination of pregnant women, new mothers, postpartum mothers and newborns (Nurvembrianti, Purnamasari and Sundari, 2021). According to WHO, the Maternal Mortality Rate (MMR) in the world is 303,000 while the maternal mortality rate (MMR) in Indonesia in 2021 showed 7,389 cases (Ministry of Health of the Republic of Indonesia, 2022). According to the West Kalimantan Provincial Health Office, in 2022 there were 120 MMR cases, with the largest contributors being cases of bleeding 31%, hypertension 23%, heart and blood vessel disorders 13%, infection 5%, covid 3%, others 25%, 5% MMR is caused by infection. One of the factors contributing to KPD is infection. PROM can result in neonatal sepsis and other infant morbidity and mortality in addition to maternal morbidity.
Case Report: Mrs. N was given continuous medical care at Bhayangkara Hospital, Pontianak City on December 18, 2023. The subject was Mrs. N, 24 years old, G1P0A0, 40 weeks pregnant with complaints of water discharge from the birth canal since 02.00 WIB. There are two types of data used: primary data and secondary data. Data were collected through anamnesis, observation, analysis, and documentation. Data analysis was carried out by comparing the collected data with the accepted hypothesis.
