Abstract

Background: Comprehensive midwifery care is provided on an ongoing basis to patients during pregnancy, childbirth, postpartum, newborn and birth control periods. Public health indicators can be easily seen from maternal and infant mortality rates. The welfare status of society, according to the World Welfare Association (WHO), indicates that around 830 women die every year due to complications during pregnancy and childbirth, with an MMR rate of 216 for every 100,000 live births.
Case Report: Comprehensive midwifery care was performed at the Utin Mulia midwife clinic from June 30, 2022, to February 27, 2023. The care encompassed pregnancy, labour, postpartum, birthweight, birth control, and vaccination. The subjects were Mrs FI and her baby. The type of the data was primary. The data collecting techniques were anamneses, examination, observation, and documentation. The data, then, were analyzed by comparing the data gathered and the existing theory.
Discussion: This case report details the continuity of care during pregnancy, labour, postpartum, birthweight, birth control, and vaccination using the SOAP method.
Conclusion: Complete continuity of care has been wholly and procedurally conducted using the SOAP method. A gap was found between the case and theory, particularly in the postpartum period.
