Abstract
Background: To reduce maternal mortality, one of the most significant issues faced by the world today is comprehensive obstetric care. This care involves detailed, thorough, and ongoing evaluation of pregnant women, new mothers, postpartum women, and infants. In West Kalimantan, there were 214 IMR per 100,000 births in 2021, according to data from the Health Office. But in 2022, there were only 120 births per 100,000. There were eight IMR per 1,000 live births in 2021. Compared to 1,000 live births, the rate dropped to 5.2 in 2022. There were no maternal or infant deaths in the previous year, according to preliminary investigations conducted at midwifery practice clinic of Eqka Hartikasih. 50 ANC, 69 INC, 69NBB, 69 postpartum, 700 family planning, and 120 vaccinations were recorded at Eqka Hartikasih centre last year. Furthermore, in 2022, there were 142 maternal deaths per 100,000 live births in West Kalimantan province.
Case Report: Care was given to a pregnant woman at midwifery practice clinic of Ekqa Hartikasih in Pontianak City, on October 2nd, 2023, at 07.40 am. The subjects were Mrs N, aged 23 years old, and her newborn baby as primary data. Data were collected by anamnestic response, observation, checking and documentation. Data were then analyzed through comparing the information obtained through existing theories. by
Discussion: In pregnancy care, it was found that the results of the breech fetal position examination were obtained at 26 weeks of pregnancy. To overcome this problem, the mother, Mrs H, was asked to do upward movements. At 33 weeks of pregnancy, she felt discomfort in her lower abdominal pain. The labor process succeeded and had no problems. In addition, care for postpartum woman and the newborn also did not encounter any problems or abnormalities.
Conclusion: There were no gaps between theory and midwifery care management based on midwifery care performed on Mrs. N and her new baby born at the midwifery practice clinic of Eqka Hartikasih in 2023.
