Abstract

Background: Pre-eclampsia, a pregnancy disorder characterized by symptoms of hypertension, proteinuria, and edema, typically manifests in the third trimester or earlier. The World Health Organization (WHO) reports a global incidence of pre-eclampsia ranging from 0.51% to 38.4%, with a prevalence of approximately 6% to 7% in developed countries and up to 3.4% to 8.5% in Indonesia. Data from the West Kalimantan Health Office indicates that approximately 8% of all pregnancies in 2023 were afflicted with pre-eclampsia, with 84 recorded cases in Pontianak, representing 2.5% of all pregnancies.
Case Report: Comprehensive midwifery care was administered to Mrs. S at the Sungai Ambawang Health Center from March to July 2023. Mrs. S, aged 28, G1P0A0, was 36 weeks pregnant with pre-eclampsia. Utilizing a primary data model in conjunction with secondary data, information was gathered through interviews, observations, examinations, and documentation, subsequently subjected to comparative analysis with established theories.
Discussion: This case study delineates the comprehensive midwifery care provided to a patient (Mrs. S) with pre-eclampsia, incorporating the employment of the SOAP method in care delivery.
Conclusion: The provision of comprehensive midwifery care was executed using the SOAP documentation approach, revealing a discernible gap between theory and practice, particularly in pregnancy examinations, as evidenced by the data collection process and subsequent evaluation.
