Abstract

Background: Shoulder dystocia is a difficulty of vaginal birth that requires obstetric delivery manoeuvers. Shoulder dystocia occurs when the baby‟s shoulder becomes stuck above the mother‟s pubic bone or when the pubic symphysis impacts the posterior or anterior shoulder and fails to perform traction rotation.
Case Report: Comprehensive midwifery care of shoulder dystocia was performed for Mrs. P (GIVPIIAI ) and her baby from November 16, 2022, to May 22, 2023. The type of the data was primary. The data collecting techniques were interview, anamneses, examination, and observation. Discussion: This case report details complete midwifery care using a descriptive method, to investigate the gap between the case and the theory.
Conclusion: Comprehensive midwifery care of shoulder dystocia of a single live fetus in the cephalic presentation has been procedurally and successfully conducted for Mrs P using Mc Roberts manouvers.
